That's right folks, Diana was never a housekeeper: she was a garment factory worker in one of the sweatshops that Christine was using in the Philippines. Christine gets hotter and hotter until Diana uses the powers she received from the ongo to completely burn the fashion designer to death.ĭiana's flashbacks begin to add up. By this time, Christine is in agony and desperate for Diana's powers to help her, so she follows the housekeeper's every instruction.ĭiana forces Christine to sit at a sewing machine in a dark and sweaty room with no water. During that time, she's been torturing Christine from afar with gruesome visions of ticks and bodily decay. With the help of Bobs, Diana returns to the family home after a few days away. She uses her magic to summon a bird into the house which causes Felix to fall down the stairs and be rushed off to hospital, leaving Christine to unknowingly fend for herself in the danger that Diana is about to inflict. Under Diana's orders, Bobs lies to Christine and says her father took the medication and blamed it on Diana in order to fire her. She obliges but secretly uses the situation to undermine Christine's trust in Felix, by recruiting the help of her daughter Bobs. However, Felix discovers it after searching her room and finding a shrine-type set-up that he describes as "voodoo".ĭiana is asked to leave the house and not return. In retaliation, Diana hides all of Christine's medication to increase her dependency on the housekeeper. While Diana continues to get closer to Christine, she becomes increasingly aware that Felix is suspicious of her intentions. She collects a tick like the one that bit Christine and keeps it in a match box, and she eavesdrops on Christine and her husband Felix through the air vents. Each night, Diana leaves a newspaper with ashes outside her bedroom door. However, as the housekeeper begins to settle into family life in London, she begins practising unusual rituals. Regardless, Diana is invited inside and sets to work cooking nice meals for the family, tidying and helping Christine deal with the symptoms of her mysterious illness. However, when she opens the door to Diana, she's dishevelled, anxious, and extremely ill from a tick bite.ĭiana is smiley and explains that Christine had hired her – however, the family have no recollection of this.
